Your comments about the balance of passion, training, technique, and risk add richness to this discussion. Thank you for reading and taking the time to comment!

LeahAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14481454257463612485noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9210028174067978141.post-79412107991481307952013-08-06T23:32:20.340-04:002013-08-06T23:32:20.340-04:00When you are passionate about something you do, yo...When you are passionate about something you do, you are aware of the risk's involved. There are all kinds of sports out there that are considered high risk to injury, but passion for something overrides the fear of being hurt. You really have a different perspective when you are the one training every day, dedicating your life to getting better and progressing, seeing results. Athletes train their bodies to do amazing things, and you have to trust that the athlete is prepared mentally and physically for whatever comes. As far as spectators, sponsors contributing...I think all measures to prevent bad things from happening to the athletes should definitely be at the top of their list, and they should come up with ways to put safety first for the athletes. As far as the audience wanting to see bad things happen, well that sounds kind of sick if you ask me. The sports are more about technique and mastering the techniques of whatever particular sport you are involved in, and having better technique than the other competitor's. Although it may look, to spectator's like something brutal or crazy, to the athlete it is not that way. I am a female who competes in a full contact sport. Sometimes my brother's say how violent it looks to see two people fighting each other, but to me it's whoever has the best technique wins. I think regardless, the athletes will do what they love to do, and always find a way to do it because it is what they love. Like I said, passion overrides the fear. At least you are lucky enough to be passionate about something, right? I am not saying if you are suffering from a TBI to go hit your head again, you need to way the pros and cons of everything you do. We all have families who love us, and that is something to consider.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
